Temperament and Behavior

They are usually friendly, loyal, and affectionate with their families, making them excellent family pets and companions. Despite their large size and energy level, Bernefies are generally well-behaved and obedient dogs that are easy to train. They respond well to positive reinforcement methods and enjoy spending time with their owners.

Coat & Grooming

The Bernefie's coat is typically long, thick, and shaggy, and may be straight or slightly wavy. The coat can come in a variety of colors, including black, white, brown, and grey, and may have markings in any of these colors. Bernefies are moderate shedders and require regular grooming to keep their coat healthy and free of mats and tangles. Brushing their coat once or twice a week is usually sufficient, but during shedding season, more frequent brushing may be necessary. Due to their thick coat, Bernefies may be prone to overheating in hot weather, and owners should take care to provide them with adequate shade and water during outdoor activities.

Due to their large size, Bernefies need plenty of space to run and play, and they may not be suitable for apartment living. They do well in homes with a large yard or access to open spaces where they can exercise and explore.

Bernefies are a large and active breed that require a moderate amount of daily exercise to maintain good health and prevent boredom.
