Snickers is a beautifully unique rough coat Brussels Griffon boy. He is affectionate and spent most of the first part of his photoshoot trying to scramble onto my lap. Fortunately, he was easily distracted with his favorite toy allowing me to get these adorable shots. Brussels Griffons may occasionally exhibit a white patch on their chest, a trait linked to their diverse ancestry. In the 19th century, the breed was developed by crossing the native Griffons d'Ecurie with various toy breeds, notably the English Toy Spaniel and the Pug. The English Toy Spaniel, in particular, often carries genes responsible for white markings. When these breeds were integrated into the Brussels Griffon's lineage, they introduced genetic variations, including the potential for white spots. While the breed standard typically discourages white markings, their presence serves as a subtle reminder of the Brussels Griffon's rich and varied heritage. At Best Friends Kennels, we not only don't mind these white markings, but appreciate them as we appreciate everything that makes each puppy a special individual. Snickers will be ready to come home mid-January and will be packing copies of his mom's pedigree and copies of each of his paternal grandparents' pedigrees. *Interest-free payment plans now available through Paypal* _______________________________________________________ At Best Friends Kennels we offer live introductions to our pups via facetime or other forms video chat.
