As a designer mixed breed, Morkies don’t have a strict breed standard. Their appearance is a gorgeous blend of Maltese and Yorkshire Terrier features. The beautiful Morkie dogs are well-built, sturdy, and resilient. They have adorable, dark round eyes that gaze with affection, a button nose that is small and black, and a fluffy, feathered tail curled over the back. Because they are a mix of a Maltese crossed with a Yorkie, Morkie dogs can appear with triangle-shaped and erect ears or rounded drop/floppy ears. The Morkie size is also a combination between the Maltese size and the Yorkshire Terrier size. Typically, a full-grown adult Morkie weighs between 4 and 7 pounds. The average height of a Morkie can range from 7 to 9 or 10 inches tall. The Morkie’s coat is of a fine texture, long with a straight or slightly wavy texture. Color patterns and marking can be similar to that of a Yorkshire Terrier or a Maltese. Morkie colors are usually solid, bi-color, or tricolor, with white, black, and tan.
