All About Me!

Jackpot is a 7-year-old mini, F1 Bernedoodle (28-30 lbs). He spent the first 3 years of his life in a kennel breeding environment. While with us, he has been part of our breeding program where all of our dogs are pets in our home. Unfortunately, although Jackpot has had house access and plenty of socoialization with our family, he has remained rather aloof. Jackpot has been health tested and OFA certified for hips, elbows, and cardiac. He is current on his 5-way vaxx and rabies. We recently decided to diversify our genetic stock for our Bernedoodle sires and have an up-and-coming F1b sire, as well as another F1 male. We have discovered that it is difficult to keep the males separated when interest in a female begins, and if kept together there is potential for aggression. We see hope that, with the right sort of "rescue person," he might become a better-adapted pet, but he would definitely need to be neutered and would need lots of patience, a fenced yard, and ideally a dog door. Alternatively, we would consider re-homing him to a breeding program where he would be well-cared-for and not permanently kenneled. Jackpot goes in and out from our large, fenced yard through a dog door into our finished "dog room," where he enjoys and plays with all the other dogs. Despite being with us for 4 years and having lots of attempted positive interactions, he still runs outside as soon as anyone enters the dog room, and when the dogs are in the main house, he prefers not to be. Our daughter still has to catch him at night, as he does not come when called. Despite being somewhat set in his ways and uncomfortable around people, he has never behaved aggressively or bitten anyone. A fenced yard is a must for any re-home situation.
