AKC Luna

All About Me!

This is Luna, a beautiful AKC English cream golden retriever born here on our farm. The family we sold her to is going through a hard transition and needs to find her a new home. From her owner: Luna has been protecting the yard regularly from squirrels, moles, raccoon, deer, coyote and cats but she got too rough with our yorkie recently and didn’t realize she was hurting him. We believe it was over a small ball but she wanted to fight with Our yorkie the way she plays rough with her toys. She may be coming into heat soon and trying to be alpha. She has not had any pups yet. She had to protect herself recently from a coyote that jumped our fence she was NOT hurt but it was traumatic for all of us including Luna. She was examined by the vet and was all clear. I had never heard her growl until that day about 5 months ago. She now always does a FULL property check when she goes outside. It has made her more aggressively seek out the small creatures. The raccoons are not a fan of hers. LOL She has never killed anything but gets them out of the yard and will fight with them. I am getting a divorce and doing everything on my own. My son suffers from asthma and breaking out to the point he has been to the hospital twice the past two months. We did allergy tests that show he is allergic but have continued to try. This is crushing us so much! I have tears just writing this. I have to work two jobs and she just isn’t getting the attention and training she deserves! This is a VERY HARD decision and I even question myself but I know I have to do what’s best for Luna and us. She is so smart and such a happy girl! She is very treat motivated. She loves any bones and toys. She will take every piece of fluff out of a stuffed toy in a day or two. She struggles with baths and the occasional loud new noise like fireworks. I just want to make sure she continues to be an indoor family pet in a good home that has time for her. She would be an excellent service dog or tracker with more training.
