Freedom Hill Farm & Family kennels, proudly presents: Maremmaton Abbey. Yes it’s a play on Downtown abbey! I have my husband to thank for that. We love all things historic. We even created a rare chicken hatchery known as Colonial Wattlesburg. With rare chicken breeds, and dwarf Nigerian dairy goats the need for a livestock guard dog arises. We have worked with Great Pyrenees, leisel and Seth did a fabulous job. With their passing from a very old age, we decided to bring in and begin to work with the Maremma sheep dog. This decision was based on the Maremmas unique guarding style. Leisel and Seth loved to roam and try to grow the property that they guarded. Our 20 acres nestled in the mist of our neighbors several hundred presented a problem during hunting season. Billy and his son were not fond of them rolling and playing at the bottom of their deer stand! I have taught Branson and Sybil the property boundary. It does seem to be going very well. Mathew is a sweet, loyal young gentleman eager to learn the workings of his new home. Parents Branson and Lady Sybil are quite proud of this distinguished young gentleman. Their young pups are being taught proper manners regarding handling of creatures with more delicate sensibilities, such as goats, poultry of many different feathers, and cats. Training begins very early in the morning with a visit to the hatchery and time spent with the mama goats. Puppies come home with their first and second shots, worming record, a baby blanket with mom’s scent, and a toy. Puppies are available for pick up, or shipping via a nanny. $200.00 deposit to hold puppy
