Chance Hi. This is Chance. He is a very special boy, loving and gentle to everyone he meets including other dogs and cats. He was brought to me emaciated, covered in fleas and ticks and suffering from ascites. Almost 2 gallons of fluid had to be drained from his abdomin immediately upon his arrival. He has been diagnosed by our veterinarian with heart failure secondary to heartworm and is currently on 4 medications 2of them he will have to take for the rest of his life. I couldn't turn away from helping this sweet boy and I know if given the love he deserves he will turn out to be an obedient, loyal and loving boy to his new family for the rest of his life. Our veterinarian thinks he is between the ages of 6-8. I would love to be able to help more boys like him if I could. It's a budget issue not a space issue. I have rehabbed 17 dogs in the last 3 years and my heart hurts so much when I have to say no to cases like Chances. Chance will never go to the shelter, I could not forgive myself knowing his time to find a great home would be cut short. He is the sweetest and most greatful boy I have ever met and I would love to keep him but I can't keep helping more dogs unless I can afford it. His gentle soul will melt your heart. I do require a referral from your vet and a neuter contract to be signed by his new owner. He is scheduled to be neutered by our vet August23rd. He is vaccinated for parvo and distemper but our veterinarian will not give him a rabies shot until he is stronger.
