We want our puppies to adjust well and have a smooth transition to their new homes so we start positive reinforcement training early! Thereby giving our puppies a healthy mental start, everything from training for eye contact, focus, sitting, impulse control, crate training to fun things like skate boarding. By 8 weeks our puppies are on a schedule and usually sleeping through the night. We devote a lot of our time during those 2 months to training and socializing the puppies. We want to go above and beyond expectations to provide both puppies and new families the best start we can provide. We do that by using top quality champion bloodlines, to produce those blocky heads and adorable wrinkles, with great temperaments. Then we provide extensive daily handling which allow you to lay your new puppy in your lap and grind its' nails with a Dremel while they sleep, handle all body parts (tail, ears, mouth). Next we add in positive reinforcement training to get the mind involved. Instead of jumping and nipping when you come up to our puppies, we train them to sit and focus their eyes on your eyes and wait, to not grab treats from your hands but again to wait, increased waiting equals stays, all this is impulse control. Yes, this takes A LOT of TIME. So, you may be asking why? Why would we do ALL of this, when we could just keep them in a kennel and allow their new family to begin the training. And my answer is, Why not? Why not give these puppies that are so smart the best start possible. Why not provide new families with the training tools to get them easily through the first several weeks.
