Darla is my retired Papillon AKC registered, UTD on shots, spayed 8 lbs Red and White looking for her retirement home. She's on the reserved side, likes to chill, low maintenance an easy dog. She doesn't like to be held, but will lay on the back of the couch behind you and some times next to you. She loves to be petted. She prefers sleeping in a crate, but will sleep in bed and is very good. Not a big barker. It's mostly when it's time for bed, she'll bolt to the bedroom, go into her crate then bark for you to close the door and cover her up. She'll be quiet all night. Then in the morning, when you let her out, she'll bolt to the door and bark to remind you not to forget her. Besides this she's fairly quiet. Not sure about cats, we have several cats that get into our yard and she will bark at them with the other dogs. I'm not sure about kids, when our grandkids have visited she'd prefer to be in the crate. Kids who want to hold her and carry her around will not be a good fit. If they let her be and come to them on her terms and just let her be, it will be ok. She's not a dog to be fussed over. She doesn't take up much space, just looking for mainly a quiet house to chill in. She's never been comfortable in a car. She is house broken and used to using a doggie door. I currently work from home and she's the best co-worker, not a peep out of her, she'll just chill under the desk. She's good company. Just a sweet girl, such a good mom. NO fuss, easy going. No need to buy toys, she isn't one to play with them but she loves treats such as green beans, carrots, pretzels.... Make sure any treats are small! She will inhale, and has had a couple scary choking instances. If you're looking for some company and a quiet, low energy dog she maybe your girl.
