‘Charlie’ is a red tricolor female. She is a small framed dog and is the second smallest puppy in the litter. She has a high possibility of one or two blue eyes. Charting to be 40-50 lbs as an adult. 'Charlie's personality is just beginning to emerge now as she moves from her infancy stages into her toddler era. She seems to be our middle of the pack puppy. She has bouts of playfulness with a curious streak and clown-like energy. She always seems to makes us laugh! She is usually one of the first few puppies to tire out during playtimes and need a nap. She absolutely loves to cuddle and be held! We are a low drive, non-working line Australian Shepherd program. We have been working on and developing the lineages of our program for over a decade to create a lower energy, well bred Aussie that will thrive in an indoor, companion home environment. Our adult dogs are members of our family and registered therapy animals that participate in weekly visits to areas in our community that benefit from volunteer therapy dogs. All breeding dogs used in our program are AKC registered, fully health tested (hips/eyes OFAed and genetic panels pulled and clear) and enjoy daily care and love by our whole family. Our puppies do best in low to moderately active homes and we sell to indoor homes only. Our puppies are raised indoors, in a clean and sanitized environment. They are filled with love and handled daily by ourselves and our 5 children. They receive daily interactions, gentle introductions to new stimuli and are well socialized from the time they are born until they go home to their new families. The puppies are kept on a bi-weekly worming schedule, are kept up to date on all vet care and are microchipped before going home with their families. They see our family veterinarian Dr Beth at less than 3 days old for their initial exams and dewclaw removals, puppies that are born with anything less than a full-length tail (Aussies can be born with any amount of vertebrae in their spine) receive their tail docking at this appointment as well. They will Dr Beth again at 7 weeks old for their first set of puppy shots, microchips, comprehensive exams and health certificates. Puppies are released at 8 weeks old (November 29th 2024) to go home with their families. They are 100% litter and crate trained by this age. They go home also well started on potty training and basic obedience training. We do allow and encourage on site visitors once puppies are 4 weeks or older (November 1st 2024) for families that would like to meet their puppy in person. Families receive weekly photo, video and informational updates - for this litter those are sent on Fridays. We do require a non-refundable deposit of $300 to hold them for you until they are 8 weeks old and ready to be picked up. An application must be filled out and approved before a deposit can be placed. Applications can be found here: https://www.larsonslegacykennels.com/aussie-application
