Agua Vida Aussies has been loving, training, rescuing, and showing Australian Shepherds since 1988. We have titled many dogs in Conformation (Beauty Pageant of Dogs), Agility, Obedience, and Herding. Over the years we have always striven to offer our friends (our clients become some of our best friends) the best all-around Aussie companion. Our Health and Temperament Standards are high. All of our dogs are Champions, or out of Champion Conformation, Working, and Performance lines. First and foremost all of our personal dogs/puppies eat a high quality kibble (No Iams or Purina here) mixed with Raw, and receive raw bones weekly. Second, we operate on a Holistic minimal vaccination program insuring that all dog/puppies are protected from common diseases, but their immune systems are not destroyed by over-vaccination. Third, our dogs and puppies are raised indoor with ENS and Puppy Culture. Check it out. Fourth, our dogs are completely health tested. Now this doesn't mean they simply went to the vet and received a 10-minute general exam. This means that they have participated in thousands of dollars of the pertinent health screening testing. Their Hips and Elbows have been x-rayed by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA). All dogs receive yearly CAER eye exams with a Board Certified Veterinary Ophthalmologist as do puppies prior to placement. In addition, all dogs have submitted a DNA sample to Paw Prints Genetics and been screened for a myriad of specific genetic diseases that are common to the Australian Shepherd. We live on a thousand acres in Eastern Colorado between Colorado Springs and Denver where my husband's ranching/farming family has lived for decades. The dogs live a life to envy.
