At 7 weeks old, these pups were taken to church in a park and they eagerly ran following me and my boys to the sitting area. Then, they sat down with us and played or napped without making any disturbance to the speaker, even while a church full of kids were petting them and holding them. They are playful, and mostly quiet. These puppies will bark if they are locked in a kennel while you are standing right there not playing with them. They will also settle down into a pile in a kennel and be quiet. Dad smelled Mom in heat and came calling from 1/2 mile away. He's friendly and obedient and lives most of the time in the country outside without a leash without coming to visit (until Mom smelled nice). Mom lives on a rural highway and stays away from the road without a leash (and keeps the pups away from the road). Mom is very quick to learn and eager to please. Mom taught herself to catch and return a ball and stick and was doing that play successfully the very first time. But, no, I don't hunt so I don't know how she would perform. I do know my neighbor refused $35,000 for his lab that he trained to hunt birds. And he remarked that my momma dog is very quick to learn. I hope that helps.
