We have been in the breeding world for 8 years. We have bred our stud Jax over most of that period of time. We have worked with a number of awesome breeders over the years to produce awesome Golden Retrievers and Golden Doodle’s, some of which have been donated to service dog organizations, and most of which who have been with great families who we still keep in contact with today. Our dogs are screened for genetic conditions using Optimal Selection and have been cleared by their veterinarians. Our stud Jax has had his hips and elbows OFA certified. In the process of determining whether or not our dogs are suitable to breed we consider several things, most importantly temperament as our goal is to raise exemplar family pets (not show dogs). Our approach in terms of conformation admittedly is not to create the perfect conformation show dog, but to breed to improve. We prefer to breed our dogs in a way that balances their unique attributes in a way that enhances them, and this means that our dam and stud may not look exactly alike and this approach is intentional to incorporate some degree of genetic variation among our purebred dogs. What you need to know before choosing to pursue an adoption with us: 1. Our puppies are perfect for families, service dog training programs, or as emotional support animals. Not perfect for conformation, show, hunting, and we only offer limited AKC registration so our pups are not great for prospective breeders. 2. Our puppies will only go to homes that demonstrate they are capable of responsible pet ownership. We require a thorough background and screening process before you can be added to our list of adopters. We require that you agree to bring the dog back to us in the case you cannot care for them, rather than bringing them to a shelter. 3. Goldens are velcro dogs that require a lot of attention! Before applying, please research the breed and ensure their temperament and emotional/physical needs are a good match for your lifestyle!
