We have been lovers of the Golden Retriever breed since we brought home our first female Golden (Mandy), over 40 years ago. As children and adults we have always had a Golden Retriever in the midst of our lives since that time. My Mother, Jody Jeffrey, has always wanted to be an official Golden Retriever breeder because of their temperament, intelligence and powerful attachment to families. She had to put that dream aside due to her teaching profession. My mother has since retired, so I offered to help my Mom to fulfill her dream. She and I started Gilded Golden Retrievers with the dedication to introduce top genetics, top health clearances , and beauty. Being the ex-teacher that she is, we searched, read, researched and spoke with reputable breeders from around the world to learn how to provide the healthiest and most favorable companion to our buyers. We have spent many hours seeking a bloodline that is clear of genetic diseases to provide quality health for our puppies and the joy of ownership for our buyers. All our puppies are whelped, loved and cared for in our home. As a reputable Golden Retriever dog breeder, we go to great lengths to make sure we provide a healthy environment and no exposure to common puppies diseases for the first 8 weeks of their life. We want our prodigies to start out their lives with wagging tails and many tongue licking episodes. From day 3 through day 16 all our puppies experience Environmental Neurological Stimulation (Super Dog Program). This procedure is used by our U.S. Military to: 1) Improve cardio vascular performance (heart rate), 2) Stronger heart beats, 3 ) More tolerance to stress, 5) Greater resistance to disease. Puppies experiencing ENS were found to have important and lasting effects. They are more active and exploratory. These puppies were found to also be less distracted in problem solving situations and made fewer errors. These exercises impact the neurological system by kicking it into action earlier than it normally would develop. The result being an increased capacity that will help to make a significant difference in the dogs development and performance. Our current Imported bloodline possesses a superior pedigree, that lists numerous Champions and International Champions. Our puppies are totally clear of Pra 1, Pra 2, and ICT. Health clearances of both parents are top rated. All of our dogs are European Golden standard and have amazing Champion bloodlines. All of our dogs are AKC registered and many are Champions in the show ring themselves! All our Sires and Dams have been tested and received top rated health clearances, either through FCI or OFA standards. All our dogs have also been genetically tested for common genetic diseases found to be prevalent within the Golden Retriever breed. In fact, we offer a 2 year Genetic Health Guarantee on all of our puppies. Here in the U.S.A., Golden Retrievers have unfortunately succumbed to numerous health problems and diseases, much more so than our European counterparts. This epidemic mainly has been brought on by poor or unethical breeding practices. We aim to preserve this breeds healthy genetics and help restore it back to it's original healthy state.
