About me

I have owned a female Bavarian Mountain Hound for years. I fell in love with the breed, they're loyal, some of the best tracking scent hounds I’ve ever come across, and they are easy to train. The breed comes from Poland. We have personally used ours for many years to track down wounded game. She has found many wounded whitetail bucks, and bobcats, she even tried her match with some coyotes. I know that she is a very energetic dog and does like to go hunt at times even without us. She has returned with a few wild surprises for us on our front porch. My male basset hound is also a hunting hound, on his schedule. He isn't as full of energy as my Bavarian. They do both however share a love for the outdoors and family. They are both very friendly and loyal companions the basset is more of a lover of ALL people and rather a laid-back personality. The Bavarian is territorial and tends to bond to their people. With them both being such family-friendly dogs, having amazing senses of smell I searched high and low for information on the two coming together and then breeding. I couldn’t find a single thing on it. I was determined to see if we could take our full-blooded Bavarian Mountain Hound female and mate her with a full-blooded Basset to create a “new hound breed” I say new because once again I couldn’t find a thing on the two online but found plenty other Bassett hound mixes. I thought this to be most likely due to the Bavarian Mountain hound being a rare breed. We put a lot of thought and love into our hound pups. With both breeds sharing the aesthetically pleasing hound dog's ears, great sense of smell, and love for the family it's a great combination. If you do your research on the breeds individually, you'll see for yourself that they are both pretty fantastic dog breeds. They come together to be something great! Please feel free to contact us and you can own something not everyone can say they will.
