About me

Can a breeder be a pet? Come visit Pups with a Purpose Kennel where we breed mostly King Charles cavaliers, and occasionally cavapoochon, and find out! We keep our number of total dogs on the property small enough to spend quality time with each one of them. We can tell who is barking by the sound of the voice and know each dog's characteristics and quirks. We have a climate controlled kennel with spacious runs but the dogs also enjoy daily romps in our 1.5 acre fenced in yard. Their favorite activities are chasing frogs into the pond and then pouncing on their humans with wet paws for a snuggle. Because we're surrounded by woods and wildlife, we keep our dogs on the very best flea and tick and heartworm prevention available, besides keeping them up to date on all their vaccines. They might have fewer parasites if they were kept in their kennel, but dogs were created to be dogs, not puppy machines. We feed our dogs a high quality food and give high quality treats as well as dental chews everyday. Though they spend the majority of their time in the kennel, they take turns in the house keeping their social skills up to date so that when they retire at an early age, they are ready to be a house pet in their new life. Pups with a Purpose Kennel was born out of a love for dogs, especially the Cavalier King Charles, and a desire to help others. The breeder, Debbie, spent fifteen years in Africa, living with the people, building clinics and churches, digging wells, and delivering babies. When her health broke, she was forced to return to the states, but her heart is still in Africa. A portion of the profit goes to support families in Malawi, Africa. Our mission statement is "Helping Missions and Healing Hearts." We love watching the bond take place between our fur babies and their new humans, but more than that, we love watching the joy and healing our little furballs can bring to a hurting heart. Puppy therapy is the best! Many of our puppies and some of our retired breeders have become emotional support dogs for the elderly, veterans, and autistic children. The time spent with them in their early development as well as the selection of our breeders predisposes them to this personality. You are welcome to visit our kennel anytime and meet our furry friends!
