About our place

Welcome to the Pankonin Farm Kennel! We have been raising dogs here for quite sometime. Actually, I whelped my very first litter of puppies in 1964!! My passion and love for raising dogs grew exponentially over those years and took over every inch of my back yard! We have 3 different buildings with doggy doors that lead to the inside. We have named these buildings 1. "The Whelping Trailer," this is where the small and medium sized dogs whelp their puppies and are kept here until they are 4 weeks old OR show interest in using the doggy doors. 2. "The Little Kennel." The Little Kennel is where we move the puppies and their mommas to, when they outgrow the trailer. The Little Kennel's doggy doors are closer to the ground, making it safer and simpler for the puppies to learn how to access the outside. Finally, we have "The Big Kennel." This is where most of our adult dogs are housed. However, it serves as a multi-purpose kennel as some of our Great Pyrenees and larger breed dogs whelp their puppies in the bigger pens. In addition to the three main buildings, we have several medium, large, and extra large outside pens, as well as a small building called "The Barn Pen." The Barn Pen is also where our bigger breed dams whelp their puppies. There is a single room that has a doggy door exiting the building to the east into a rather larger pen. All of our buildings are kept at 68-75 degrees in the winter and are air conditioned in the summer. We provide blankets, toys, and beds for the dogs. As well as give them daily treats and human interaction. The outside pens have large dog houses that are padded with 6 inches of hay. Both inside and outside pens are equipped with automatic feeders appropriate to the size of dogs occupying that area. All of the buildings have automatic water licks all year round, where the outside only has them in the summer and are switched out for water bowls in the winter. We also have one play yard, also known as the "North Yard." The North Yard is a puppy playground, riddled with several different toys, "playground equipment", pools (in the summer), and all sorts of room to run. We often let the older puppies (6 weeks & older) out in this yard to intermingle and play! This is quite possibly the most interesting, yet fun part of the day! It's definitely a tripping hazard walking to the Little Kennel through this area. All of our dogs/puppies get lovings, dog treats, and companionship daily. The adults are groomed monthly, are treated for cyclically treated for worms, and are seen and vaccinated by our local vet yearly. Our vet visits the farm for such examinations as it would be quite some work to haul all the adult dogs to her office. Here at the Pankonin Farm Kennel we have an undying love for the dogs and puppies we raise. It's been a journey, but not one I would replace for anything. I look forward to many more years of loving and raising the companions that stay and the puppies that get placed with people like you. If you have any questions about the farm, or the available puppies we have please send us a message! We are always happy to answer them! Want to visit the farm yourself? We'd love to set up a puppy play date for you! :D
